Using Botanicals for Cleansing and Conditioning Hair and Calming Scalp

  • Rosemary: Known for stimulating hair growth,  cleaning and protecting the scalp-potentially reducing hair loss by improving scalp circulation.

  • Green Tea: Contains antioxidants that can improve hair health, potentially reduce hair thinning, and soothe the scalp. It may also help regulate sebum production.

  • Lemon Balm: A mild astringent that can help combat oiliness and balance the scalp, soothe irritation, and potentially aid in hair growth.

How to use

  1. Preparation: Brew a strong tea using rosemary, green tea, and lemon balm. Let it cool completely.

  2. Application: You can use the cooled tea as a rinse after shampooing or as a pre-shampoo treatment.

  3. Rinsing: Thoroughly rinse the tea from the hair with cool water.

Important considerations

  • Buildup: While these rinses can help remove some buildup, for persistent buildup, consider clarifying with a baking soda/ACV detox treatment.

  • Caution with Sensitive Skin: If you have a sensitive scalp or skin condition, consult with a dermatologist before using these rinses.

  • Frequency: Tea rinses can be done as needed or every every two weeks, depending on your hair needs.
