For Mel, hair has always been more than strands to style—it has been a story, an expression, and a way of caring for others. She began braiding and nurturing hair as a child, guided by a fascination with the strength and beauty of natural textures. What started as a childhood passion has blossomed into a lifelong calling.

Her path first led her into healthcare, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science and spent more than a decade dedicated to helping others. Those years shaped her work ethic with compassion, precision, and a deep respect for holistic well-being. When her own health journey unfolded, it drew her closer to the healing power of botanicals and natural care—wisdom she now weaves into her artistry.

Professionally trained at the legendary Dudley’s Cosmetology University, licensed by the North Carolina Cosmetic Arts Board, and trained in Sisterlocks™, Mel combines scientific knowledge with intuitive artistry. Every client she serves receives more than a service—they step into an experience that celebrates beauty, wellness, and self-expression.
